How Can You Help? Intern with AEBT!
Afghan Education for a Better Tomorrow is looking for unpaid interns for the summer and fall months. If you or someone you know is interested in any of the below positions, please send your resume, and an introduction email with the internship title and your name in the subject line to Maryam Ufyani at maryam.ufyani@gmail.com by May 20, 2011. Internships will begin June 1, 2011.

Internship Positions and Descriptions:

1.)    Social Media Developer
Increase presence in social media. Develop presence on Twitter, Linked In, YouTube, update Facebook page, etc. Apply for grants on social media sites (ex. Google Adwords grant). Send out monthly updates via Constant Contact. Work closely with Graphics Intern.

2.)    Graphics and Video Developer
Develop a short 5-10 minute video of the work AEBT has done thus far. The video will be placed on the AEBT website and shared with donors. Develop flyers and video commercials as needed. Work closely with Social Media Intern.

3.)    Researcher (Grants and Articles)
Research grants that would be applicable to AEBT. Research foundations that have awarded grants to organizations similar to AEBT and make recommendations to the Board. Research relevant issues in education and health in Afghanistan.

4.)    Web Designer
Manage the website, update items on a regular basis, and recommend design changes.

Why Intern with AEBT?
AEBT is a new organization that is looking for committed and qualified individuals who will be instrumental in the growth of the organization. This is your chance to make a difference and contribute to the humanitarian projects that AEBT carries out. All internships are flexible and you can work from home with a few in-person meetings. Internships will last for about 10 weeks, with a commitment of 5-10 hrs per week and will report to the East Coast Executive Director.  AEBT Board members are more than happy to write letters of recommendation and serve as references for future opportunities.

Rebuild Afghanistan Summit, with a 8 year history of one day Summits to bring together non-profit representatives from Northern California, added a second location, Southern Califonia, in Nov. 2010 under the leadership of Masood Sattari. In January, 2011, AEBT Board of Directors approved the inclusion of Rebuild Afghanistan Summit to it’s offerings and voted in Masood Sattari to the Board of Directors. Masood will continue to offer the RAS in San Francisco, Los Angeles and in 2011, add Fresno, CA with a special Healthcare Summit.

Masood hopes to also take RAS to Afghanistan in the future. Welcome Masood Sattari and RAS to AEBT, the Summit offers the opportunity for all parties interested in Rebuilding Afghanistan to come together, share ideas and improve the non-profit offerings to improve the lives of the Afghan people.

Concert Under the Stars 2008 Fundraising Event
With the yearly fundraising event that Hafif Foundation puts together, International Orphan Care (www.orphanproject.org) and Afghan Education for a Better Tomorrow joined forces through this wonderful event to raise funds for education and health related programs in Afghanistan.

Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR)
